The most interesting thing about Mason Bar, which we featured as a New in Town about five seconds ago, was the fact that David Anthony Temple — aka Chef DAT, known for his underground dinners — was heading the kitchen. Yesterday came the word, via Eater Dallas, that he’s already gone. (Been dere, done dat!) Mason Bar’s marketing manager India Bounds confirms: He’s left to pursue his underground dinners. “In his time as our opening chef,” she wrote in an email, “he helped us create an exciting menu and develop a great team.”
Man, that was fast. I didn’t even have a chance to sample his victuals there.
Meanwhile, an email just landed in my in-box announcing Chef DAT’s next underground dinner, to take place this Saturday, March 3, somewhere in Deep Ellum. Details after the jump.
Have you been to one of these? Thoughts?
